There is a new tool out there, see in the Farm Show Magazine, called the PINCH-A-LOG that makes easy work of picking up, throwing and stacking firewood with No deep bending. With this tool you can pick up firewood, split or whole, from 6 to 26", and throw it in your truck, wagon or sleigh. It was getting hard for me to continually bend down to the ground to pick up firewood for gathering and stacking but not anymore. In fact, I wish I had this years ago because it also saves time. My friend can has gotten to where he can use one in each hand! Check it out if you want to make a hard job much easier.

Neat! Thanks for the tip!

Looks like a pretty simple device to whip up if you've got a welder, so I believe I may give it a shot.

I, for one, think that all promotional videos related to firewood products should feature blondes in heels and a skirt.

Hey, if she can make it look easy in heels, it must also work with proper footwear for the job (boots).

They are basically timber tongs, but with a quick-release handle. It should be easy enough to modify, though I'm not sure the handle is necessary if this video is anything to go by.

Jeanne - despite the way you wrote your post I see that it's your brother's company and that you are the marketer. Could you tell us a bit more about how your product differs from other timber tongs?

I watched the video, found the website: http://www.northwindtools.com Spotted another video about the inventor:
who won a gold medal at the Minnesota Inventor's Congress, and decided to buy one. With shipping, it is close to $70, but it will be worth it. Many people besides me will be using this over the next few years, as we create our permaculture community on Vashon Island, Washington. (www.heartstad.webs.com) Thanks, Paul, for creating this blatant advertising forum. I love supporting US innovation and inventors, and I love being able to do things with ease.
