Whoops! Some woods girl🙄 don't even know which direction I'm going! I meant northWEST of Rhinelander, West of minocqua. What town are you near? The above posts indicated you were looking in several places so I wasn't sure where you settled.

The cold definably slows things up! My "available materials" pile is under a foot of snow. Between the two my building has pretty much stalled out for now. Although I have a pretty solid structure. I haven't figured out a proper draft system so an inside fire is nearly impossible until I can get on the roof safely and work on a chimney. Therefore, not warm enough to hang out there more than a couple hours at a time. Fortunately rent is cheap at my husband's house. Lol

I'm already itching for spring to finish it up, and then work on garden, and chimney, and settling in etc. While not do "settled" that I could move on if the right opportunity/community opened up.

But yeah I would love to pop over and check stuff out. And maybe pick your brain about a fire pit inside without  smoking myself out. I have been spoiled by woodstoves and metal chimneys without having to really to know exactly how draft/draw actually works so that I can make use of it.

For sure in the spring. But maybe, if you aren't too far away, it would be a nice break if we get some decent weather. 20° is nice.

I will be doing some running around this weekend (Friday and/or Saturday Jan 21/22) looking at a piece of property and the local town near it.

But I keep thinking it's kind of silly to have two projects simultaneously, both looking for members, when the whole point is to have community and work together.

So I would really like to get together with you. See if we might be compatible, compare goals, etc.

I have no idea how to message someone here but you can reach me at turtleshelltravels@gmail.com.

Let's talk.

Hi Coydon, how are things looking now that summer is here? Did you finish the yurt? Or is there another thread for your camp progress?
We will be in Wisconsin for three weeks in July, currently in Michigan (lower peninsula).
