Hello everybody,
we are Zoé and Joshua. We have two wonderful properties in a nature reserve in the Serra de Arada (north of Portugal, close to Viseu). Our land is terraced, has a spring and when we bought it, it was completly overgrown. We started to create a forestgarden and to build a natural house with clay, stones, wood, straw, glas and all kinds of natural material.
This year we also started to keep bees. We found a way, where we do not need to wear protection clothes and do not need to feed the bees in winter with sugar.
Now spring has arrived and again we offer workshops covering the following topics:
1) forest gardening
2) roofing in the traditional style of Lafoes (flat stones)
3) natural beekeeping

The workshops would be for a weekend. We provide the food and you are very welcome to camp on our beautiful summerplace next to the river with three natural pools and big waterfall. By interest morning yoga, meditation and drum music session are included in the workshops.

The cost is per person 150 Euro.
The date of the workshop is flexible and depends on when it is good for you.

If you like, check our homepage: www.blueberrybeach.com

Love and hugs
Zoé and Joshua

Zoe and Joshua, It sounds like a permaculture paradise
We are going to look at properties in Castellon in the NE of Spain this weekend to create our own permaculture paradise.
Good luck with your workshops! It's great to connect with you here on Permies.

Hola Zoe

It's taken me a long time to learn Spanish!!!
But we may take you up on your offer of cheap properties in Portugal if we don't find what we are looking for in Castellon on our budget. What is your climate like?
Hugs
Lucy

ola Lucy, if you already speak spanish, portuguise is a little step. The clima iss fantastic, if you like rain. The winters are not too cold, there are flowers all over the year and in every month of the year you have beautiful days with blue sky and sun. But Joshua lived 2 years in Andalucia, and up here in the north of portugal it is not that hot than in the south of spain. On the other hand, you have much more water here, most of the properties have a water source, and you still have oak forest. If you have more questions, fell free to ask. but he best is your own experience. If you like, you are very welcome to come around and camp on our land. Then you can have a look by yourself. Hugs and kisses, Zoe and Joshua

Hola Zoe

It does sound so lovely!!!

How cheap is the land??? In North Castellon (about the same latitude as Viseu) we can get a hectare without water for less than 5000 euros. Is it possible to buy a property for less than 5000 euros? We don't have a car so it would need to be within walking distance of a village. And how are the rules about building a property (yours sounds wonderful).

We are currently in Tarifa just on the outskirts of the cork oak forest!

kind regards
Lucy

ola Lucy, it sounds our area is not more cheap than Castellon. For most of the properties you have to pay between 4 and 10 tousand euros. But nearly all of them have water. The ones that does not have spring, have river access or rights on common watertank. From size they more little than a hectar, butmore than big enough to build up an offgrid home. Our property is around 7500 m2 and after 2 years we still have a lot of free space. You can also find bigger properties with ruins, but they will be more in the direction of 20 tousand. To build on the property is possible, but since here it is nature reserve, you have to do it without any cement. Another topic is the car. Well, everything is possible, but we would not like to live here without a car. The next village with a supermarket and post is 7 km away. Love and hugs, Zoe and Joshua
