Do 5 - Use vermicompost to fertilize indoor plants - PEA BB garden.sand.five.fertilize

This is a badge bit (BB) that is part of the PEA curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in Gardening.  

A fertilization with vermicompost will work wonders for your plants. They’ll gain immediate benefits, as well as repeated boosters every time you water the plant. It’s vital to remember that plants will leech away nutrients over time and they will need replaced. In a closed system that is found in indoor situations, this is especially true. It’s a good lesson to keep close to your heart since it’s far easier to provide what the plant needs in advance rather than waiting until the plant is suffering. Scale that up in the future to an entire field and you can imagine why the lesson is so valuable.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
Fertilize indoor plants with vermicompost.
Show how the plants grow/improve over time.





To document and become certified for this BB provide photos or video (less than 2 minutes) showing the following:
- Explain any improvements or increased growth in the plant(s) that occurred after the top dressing
- Show the vermicompost you will be using
- Action shot of yourself fertilizing the plant(s)
- Show the plant several weeks later.
