Hi another new guy.
Stumbled on this forum looking for info on Quonset huts as a home/shop.
Going to start building on land I purchased in Wyoming on the Wind River. My mutual thoughts are to use 2 high cube containers with a 40x40 Quonset hut over the 40’ or so gap between them.
Have gotten prices from a few different manufacturers for a 40x40x20 (20’ is height if built off the ground). This seems to be my most cost effective route. There are no permits or inspections where I am building. Looking for people that have done something similar.

That sounds like a really unique building system, thank you for the attached photograph! I wonder what would be the best way to secure everything together would be.

There’s a base plate that welds to the top of the containers. The foundations are spec’d as 6 sonotubes for the outside of the containers with the inside edge resting on a 40x40 slab. Mechanically fixed to the concrete similar to a q hut built on the ground.

That set up looks a bit like the dog trot houses There was some discussion about the space between the groundfloor rooms being useful for cooling rather than heating. I'm thinking you will need to take that into account when designing the spaces.
We have a similar shaped barn here and it's great for wind resistance (although on the ground not on containers) We've thought that it would make an economical home. Condensation issues and insulation of the metal skin ought to be fairly reasonable to deal with.
I found a useful site here which has some more ideas (mostly about nissan huts which have an internal frame like our barn does.

I just got off the phone with steel masters and the salesman trying hard. I’ve seen post about that company but so far Curvco has the best price for comparable quality and is all American made.
They however cannot/will not do the engineering on the opening for the cupola. Which is one of those things I’m not willing to compromise on. The difference in price started out at $14000 more for SM building and now they are roughly $3k higher. They said they could the engineering. For a price. We’ll see how that goes but I’m about wore out dealing with the game.
Need to add that they are pushing the 50 year rust perforation warranty. lol I’m 64. Every year a super long warranty means less to me.
