David Hula is NOT an organic farmer. He's very focused on soil health, but uses all available crop inputs, including synthetically refined fertilizers and pesticides, to grow his crops.

David Hula is NOT an organic farmer. He uses all available crop management methods, including synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. He does use some soil building products that are organic approved, but he does not limit himself to organic products. The reporter got confused by that and his emphasis on soil organic matter. The comments on the linked article explain it well.
