Maybe think outside the box. I just had 150 acre select cut. They cut the big trees and left the small and medium trees. It thinned out the trees giving it more of a park like appearance than a forest. The point of this is my place now looks like an apocalypse hit it. They piled up all the slash (limbs] and now I have to get rid of them and clean up. Most people just burn the piles but I think that is a waste. I am cutting my fire wood for this year, next year and maybe the next. That's 30 cords altogether. I'll still have at least 50 cords to get rid of. I plan to advertise for anyone who wants it to come cut all they want.
So, since you are to far away to benefit I suggest you contact a local logger and see if you can cut wood from his work site
