Married couple homesteading at 7500' on the AZ/NM border.  We eat a carnivore diet, relying on meat, milk and animal products from our sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys and rabbits.  Our dogs are the glue that keeps our homestead together and we love to talk them!  We raise Anatolians, Komondors and Newfoundlands.

I am familiar with Tehachapi. Is it on the east or west side?  We have friends that are off Water Canyon and love the area.

Can you please send me some information? How many acres? Price?

Thank you

I messaged you for the location and asking price.

Thank you!
We have been living off-grid and building our own homestead/s for the last five years in Arizona and New Mexico and have decided we want to move back to Nevada where we lived about ten years ago.

Our desired property would be 1) at least 100 acres, 2) above 5000 feet elevation, 3) have a well and pump with water rights 4) without neighbors close by.  We also prefer to not be near train tracks.  Having an airport, hangar, or runway on the property or nearby would be great, but not a deal breaker.  We are open to very remote areas and are used to dirt and unmaintained roads.

A home or structures would be nice but not necessary if we are allowed to live in our RV on the property full-time.  Fencing and/or corrals would be nice.  We are significantly reducing our sheep herd, but our plan is to continue raising livestock wherever we settle. We are not a commercial operation, we only raise livestock for our personal use.

Budget is $200,000-$800,000 with creative/or owner financing and/or open to trade properties that we own in both Arizona and New Mexico.  We are in the process of selling more than $1M worth of real estate while looking for our next property at the same time.  We are also interested in renting or leasing property (either a home or space for an RV) in north/western Nevada while we continue to search for a property to purchase. We are self-contained in our RV and my husband works from anywhere with our own Starlink.  We do have dogs (both livestock guardians and house dogs)  and depending on the situation we would bring anywhere from 2-6 with us until we purchase our own property.

If anyone knows of land, property, or a situation that would be mutually beneficial for us, please let me know.  We are working professionals and business owners in our 50's-60's with no dependents (other than our animals) and have no issues with background checks, no use of drugs or smoking, and only responsible and moderate consumption of alcohol.

No, I'm sorry.  I've spent four years looking for like minded people just to be let down over and over again, except for a two good experiences with some great people.  We have now changed our plans.  We have two properties up for sale if anyone is interested in some great off-grid homesteads!

Yes, I do eat seafood.  Salmon and shrimp, although my husband doesn't like either of them because we know they aren't wild raised or caught.  As homesteaders, we have to work with what we have.

We buy our steaks from a local butcher for about $15/pound.   My husband will only eat filet mignon, even though I sneak in rib eyes and sirloin steaks when he isn't paying attention.  We eat about 1 lb per day of steak/meat/beef.  Plus the butter, milk/cream, chicken, seafood and bacon.  We could spend $100 per day eating out every single day and we've cut our food bill by over half when we eat carnivore.

Out of desperation after 4 years of debilitating pain, I went full carnivore - meat, bacon, butter, eggs, salt and milk. Within three days my pain disappeared. 30 Days into carnivore, I started adding avocado, cucumber and zucchini.  I felt fantastic. I was so happy that I discovered a way of eating that worked for me, and I am able to source a good amount of what we eat from our homestead. That's the point, right?

Well, the holidays came and mama likes her stuffing, potatoes and gravy!  I need to go back full carnivore. It's cheap, I feel FANTASTIC on it and it is SO easy.  There is very little food waste at all because I don't have to buy a bunch of weird ingredients to make full meals.  Oh, that's another thing - I was eating one meal a day!  I was so full and I wasn't hungry.  If I wanted a snack, I would eat bacon or pork rinds.

Easy. Cheap. Ability to provide 90% of what we ate from what we already produce. Effective.  It is perfect for me.
