Biography
I came to Permaculture a few years ago by way of a book of essays on Distributism. I fell in love with the way Earth Care was joined to People Care, and observing both being essential to the Permaculture framework.
Currently a housewife and mother, I have had life-long interests in languages, literature, history, people-watching (personality/temperaments), and, of course, ethics/philosophy.

That is very very neat. Wow, thanks for posting this!

I have been teaching my daughter via the program "Cursive First" and am so pleased with her progress. An in-law never learned to write cursive, and I have always felt sorry about that. I can't imagine not scribbling away in cursive as well as print, so I always knew I would teach Miss G cursive. She hated it at first--then got good at it, and doesn't fuss about her practice any more.

She'll be able to read old recipes and letters, and besides that, it's good for the brain. (Top 10 Reasons to Learn Cursive--Memoria Press) At least one state education system has reintroduced cursive into the public school curriculum after having dropped it, and good job, I say!

30 years ago my mother made one topped with all the supermarket candy you can imagine. My daughter wants one like that but I said, "We will do it with fruit if we make one."

I have four comfrey plants about a foot high in my front yard.  Mine are small, in a waste patch of grass.

However, they can supposedly get this big:

I mow mine once a year, other than that I personally do nothing with them.

My hard-core Sanderson-fan brother says: "The Mistborn series is a little more accessible than Stormlight - I'd recommend reading the first trilogy of Mistborn first. The first book can also be enjoyed as a standalone heist novel, so you won't feel pressured into finishing the series if it's not your thing.

Stormlight is a culmination of Sanderson's work and combines several of his series. Enjoyment of it is enhanced by having read his other books but that is not mandatory. They are his longest and most world-building heavy, and may turn off some people who prefer shorter, puncher works.

I'd dip your toes in with a book like Mistborn or Warbreaker, and see what you think from there."

I read in the first edition of The Resilient Homestead that Ben Falk had done this some years ago at his home. What a fantastic idea. It is great that you tried it, thanks for making videos!

Like math and dancing, I have always struggled with puzzles. My 8 yo likes to do puzzles sometimes, and I am glad to consider all those benefits for her brain that you listed above. Jigsaw puzzles take patience, careful attention, and keenness of observation, wonderful things to develop in a growing person. It is a wonderful screen-free activity for Winter, thanks for pointing it out!

I know a native Peruvian, from whom I heard that the English "guinea pigs" is indeed a good name for them--their meat apparently does taste like pork. (I had thought these animals were merely pets for people who didn't have enough space for a cat or dog!) Hopefully the above channel will educate people on this, and there will be more such experiments beyond beef, chicken, and pork in the USA.

Just now had to look up corset belts, because I thought maybe they are the same thing as the belly band I had to wear in my third trimester years ago. No, I guess not. I am guessing reenactors wear corset belts, would anyone else?

I have never heard of such a thing--maybe I should get one myself. I wonder if it is better to stand at a desk if possible or use a chair like this? I read on the exercise bike but I couldn't teach that way, so I am looking for something useful.
