Seems like there's a pretty active singles community here so I guess I'll give this a try.
I'm a late Gen Xer who's recently bought into a land co-op in the Ukiah valley, a couple hours north of the SF Bay. I'm living off-grid on a mostly undeveloped piece of land getting ready to build a strawbale, passive-solar home. I've dreamed about this my whole adult life and always imagined it would be with a partner. But opportunity and necessity had other plans. I split from my ex who I'm still friends with about a year and half ago, before I bought in here. The "property" I have is a 10 acre ridge of some of the most beautiful rolling oak savanna you've ever seen, and it is part of a much larger 800 acre preserve that I co-manage with the folks who have been living here much longer. The co-op was started in the early 80's as a kind of lesbian eco-sanctuary, but quickly began allowing partners of all stripes to join. I feel incredibly blessed to be here, and am sometimes overwhelmed. I am very interested in meeting a woman with similar values and land-based skill set who's interested in a crazy adventure like this. I certainly have a lot of dreams for this place, but there's plenty of room for co-dreaming something magical with the right woman/person. I consider myself queer-adjacent, meaning that my world view is fundamentally queer and *not of this culture* and I embrace all kinds of gender and social deviance in my daily life, while my romantic/sexual desire is essentially hetero for someone who is femme presenting and equipped (ahem).
A couple things about me that are pretty much deal breakers for any prospective partners: my political and religious life. I'd say my radical left politics are actually the most important aspect that I need to be on the same page with anyone who I date. To simplify the conversation, I identify politically as a Libertarian-Eco-Socialist, which is really just a fancy way of saying I'm an Eco-Anarchist (Libertarian was our word first and I'm taking it back from right wing capitalist douchebags). So you know, if you know what that is or think you know and are down for the cause we should chat. If you don't know what that is, I'm not sure I have the time to bring you up to speed.
The other vector that's also pretty important to line up with a potential mate is my spiritual life- which drives my political life. It's not as important that I find someone who's into the exact wyrdo flavor of religious practice I do, but you at least gotta be ok with it. In a nutshell I'm a Celtic Polytheist, or to put it bluntly, I worship the Old Gods. And I have friends, so dating me/living with me would involve late night bonfires and arcane rituals to those who came before. Probably lots of dead things and spoooooky shrines doted around the house/land. But also plenty of shrines to the fae and other beings of this place as well. I'm and animist and a Taoist as well.
I'd say more about my project but I think that might be better for some dialogue. I'm looking for a fit, health-conscious woman who knows how to live on the land and has passions and skills that overlap and/or are complimentary to my own. I have many hobbies outside of permaculture, paganism, and political action. I love Irish/Celtic music and am learning to play bodhran. It would be a major bonus to meet someone who like to play music of some sort. I love to sing too.
