Pumpkin pie is my one of my favorite things about this time of year. Does anyone have a good recipe for DIY Cool Whip?
Thanks for this post. I now have a new and different perspective on an animal which I considered to be a nuisance.

So, I'm wondering, what is the community answer to these problems?  Just let us die?

From my many studies in economics, I am thoroughly convinced that the very existence of the insurance industry is what happens when we all stop caring for one another. The insurance industry functions to drive up prices on medical care. If the insurance industry (which I call the paying-for-air industry) didn't exist, prices would fall because those providing such care would have to compete directly for customer dollars rather than for the dollars of an insurance company--which often refuses to pay anyway.

Faeryn Savage's post was accurate except for the plastics. I personally would not stick plastics in the dishwasher or the microwave. In fact, if you can avoid having your food and water contact plastics at all, then that would be best for your health. Also, any dishwasher I have used is not useful because in order for it to work, you have to wash the dishes before/after running them through the dishwasher (which makes no sense to me). I have often called them dish dirtiers.
Machines for washing clothes do a much better job of actually washing the clothes.
Dishwashers just create a large amount of needless conflict and redundancy. If I were you, I would pare down the amount of dishes that I own and just wash those by hand.

Backwoods Home Magazine is one of my favorite magazines! It makes things easy and digestible and palatable for the beginner. I am not as partial to Self-Reliance Magazine. For anyone who prefers Self-Reliance magazine to B.H.M., please let me know why you prefer it to B.H.M.
