Hello David

This is Eddie, 43 y/o retired merchant marine, thanks for keeping up with the forums…

I wonder if your community has room for some work trade situation?

I’ve been looking for a long term project on wooded land, where I can learn the sawmill and timer framing, along with the other homesteading activities.

For the last 2 years I’ve been traveling communities and volunteering a good bit, now that I’m back in America, I’m looking for something more long term.

Today, my finances and nearly exhausted, while I’m waiting form some investments to pay out. So, I really do need to earn my keep with work exchange.

When they do pay out… I’ll be needing a good way to spend it. I love what you said about not having a culture of ’score keeping’

I very much appreciate your tone on the forum, I’m not detecting a lot of forward go, and you sound like someone I would like to work with.

Hope we can chat soon
My best
Eddie

"I wonder if the boot camp has enough construction to suit you"

I imagine it would... i'm just hopping for a good fit that wouldn't burn my savings in driving all that way...

although, i'm sure it's a great thing to experience
Hello

I'm seeking experience with sawmills, milling and building.

I have enough wood working background and building homes to be useful and not too terribly needy in the way that volunteer help can be.
Some of my experience is in remodeling homes, some at custom cabinet shops..  I'm a well rounded skills guy.

Right now i'm In North Carolina, and can travel a bit, though too far would burn up the savings account...

I'm hopping for a work-stay arrangement, and can commit to many months, or more.

lets chat

Thanks for posting

I'm wrapping up a year of travel; several volunteer projects along the way and one farm school in Indiana...

I'd like to know, when I should aim to make my way out there from the east coast?

I think I'm free after mid January 2026

My goal, will be to put in two years of work and learning into this program and evaluate my direction then.

I'd pay the application fee, but my banking needs attention. Do you take crypto?
