Jovian Finch wrote:I've got a few acres of land in Skagit County near the conveniences of town, where I've got a great little start to a homestead, but it's a lot to manage on my own. I'm hoping to find someone who wants to share this life with me. I'm also interested in connecting with other homesteaders and permies in my area to network, skill share, make friends, etc.

I settled in my particular area because it's rural but also feels like a relatively safe pocket for lgbt+ folks. But this life isn't for everyone, and being lgbt already creates a small dating pool. So I figured I'd reach out here to make some connections.

The setup: I've got a semi-offgrid tiny home now, plan to build a "real" house soon inspired by Sunray Kelly's homestead. I've got a sanitary humanure setup, rainwater catchment, solar energy kit + grid power, and starting a hugelkultur.
I also have a house about 35 min away where I shower, do laundry, and fill potable water until I improve my rainwater filtration and plumbing setup.

My main limitation in building this up is TIME. I have a full time remote work job, plus manage an Airbnb property, plus trying to build up my home when weather allows. Having someone to share the load (and life) would make this all more possible and a lot more joyful, even if it's just on weekends or part-time.

Me: I'm a hopeless romantic. I'm quiet and gentle. I live for cuddles. I'm happy to eat things I didn't have to cook for myself, but also enjoy cooking for others. I'm neurospicy, and always striving to find the balance between planning and spontaneity. I'm ftm (he/they), and demisexual. I care deeply about land stewardship, human rights, personal autonomy/consent, kindness, community, and inclusion. I believe that clear intentional communication and boundaries are the cornerstones of a healthy relationship. I value interdependence and an egalitarian partnership; mutual support, not caretaking.

Compatibility notes: I practice intentional & consensual non-monogamy. I am firmly non-religious and an omnivore (we can differ on this as long as we respect each other's choices). I live with dogs and cats (allergy warning). I'm open to platonic relationships with just about anyone if we share core values (honesty, openness, respect for other beings and the land). For romance, I'm interested in queer people of any gender within about 10 years of my age (37). I prioritize in-person connection over digital/long-distance.

Please reach out if you'd like to know more and meet over coffee or a dog walk.

Armand Olvera wrote:Recently got 10 acres out in Southern Oregon, planning on moving there by next year to continue my college education + start working on my homestead.
I would love to have someone along for the ride, but regardless of whether I find someone that works out, I'm doing my best to make it out there anyway.

Currently live in Texas, attending community college, studying for my Computer Science bachelor's. Enjoy nature, quiet nights, gaming, and most movies and shows.
Although lately, I haven't had much time for the last three things.

Simple nerd looking for someone compatible to start a life with. Dating apps have been a headache, so I found this site via Reddit.
Just giving it a shot.

Send me a message or reply here if you're interested, thanks for looking!
