What brand of diesel heater is most reliable?  Looking for input on backup heat for Alaska winter if the wood supply runs low.

Like the thread, this is a difficult task these days.  I like to go on hikes and have been looking for rocks, cool wood and things to pickup to make into unique presents.  Your thread got me thinking.  Any cool rock ideas?

I bought my Alaskan homestead properties (yep, now own TWO) through Landlimited.com and I saw they have properties in California.  I couldn't be happier with my buys and how helpful the staff was.  You can customize your payments and pay off anytime, no credit check.  Give them a call, tell them the annoying trucker with 100 questions referred you, bet they'll remember.  Weather in your areas will be much more comfortable.  Enjoy the land search, buy it right, buy it once.

I started with weather.  What kind of weather can you handle?  Then ask yourself what is your desired use.  Check the zoning, be a shame to waste a lot of time and money for the county to come in and red flag you.  Once you get the APN you can call whatever county it is in and make sure you comply.  I went with Alaska property and couldn't be happier.  No one bothers me, no neighbors for miles and zero people drive by because its so remote and hard to access.  My dream lot.  Good luck

I bought from a similar site.  Shopped for 6 plus months and finally decided on a homestead in Alaska.  I went with Landlimited.com, got my deed quickly after paying off.  I worked with Matt there who was super helpful and knew the area well.  No bidding, just strait forward buying with customizing your payment terms, buying only took a couple of minutes after months of deciding.  What other sites have you guys used for homestead/off grid buys?
