Does anyone have any information about treating fur mites in rabbits naturally? Most of the info I've found is about ivermectin or Revolution. I've started dusting with DE, and have added ACV and GSE to the water, but so far I'm seeing no improvement. This is a fiber-producing rabbit, so I'm not concerned about meat production, but I'm very concerned about his comfort and the health of his cat.
I've raised both meat and angora rabbits and I think the information I found about the mites issue was that you can use a flea powder that is deemed Kitten-Safe on your rabbits, but not just prior to butchering. Cannot remember the exact citation, but I have "Rabbit Production" as a reference, so it might be in there.
I know it's not a "natural" remedy, but it depends on how bad your infestation is.
