Bugs helping out

I see fire ants setting up to guard my sunflowers.  Plus see quite a few lady bugs I bless.  Japanese beetles are slowly disappearing probably into lawn..

Have you read Kingsolver's 'Prodigal Summer'? Fiction, but a great parable about the role of balanced systems... specifically insects.

Indeed. A warm day in the Yukon is probably a cold day in Tennessee.
Different challenges and solutions in different biomes, but sometimes there is crossover. For example: Very few bees up here, so most pollination comes from mosquitoes and ants. I too encourage ants!
