Rumex (Sorrel) - Germination

Hello,
It's late spring and the Rumex (Sorrel) is dropping it's seeds. I was able to get a bunch of stalks before they fell to the ground.

I planted them about 10 days ago or so, and I had the notion that perhaps the Sorrel seed needs cold stratification, or that the Rumex plant grows from root division.

Anyone know how to treat Sorrel?

Another cool thing I was able to do is transplanting lambsquarters into my garden. Hopefully they will survive the transplant and produce some seed/leaves.

I sowed sorrel in the spring of 2008 without any preparation of the seed (stratification etc.). I got several very nice clumps of sorrel a few weeks later. Two years ago I dug up, divided and transplanted some of the plants. It took them about a year to recover completely and return to the same productivity as they had on the previous site. Now they are all doing fine.
