I just reread the 1975 Plowboy interview with John Shuttleworth.  For those who don't know, he was the founder of Mother Earth. Anyway  as with most dated interviews some parts of it I found more than a little strange, and  some parts were on target.  One part really stood out to me though. John commented  on the need for people to focus less on the industrial problems and more on the positive things they can do as individuals.  To me, it sounded like an early version of spending less energy being mad at the bad guys.
