Hello,
I am looking for a roommate who shares my values and has interest in creating an urban
permaculture paradise! The goal is to grow the vast majority of the household's food, raise layer
chickens, start an efficient and effective
compost and recycling program on the property and hopefully in the community. The opportunities for projects are (almost) endless. Yakima has lots of potential for education and community outreach as well. It is an agricultural hub, there are lots of wineries and microbreweries and there are plenty of spaces that could be community gardens or food forests.
The Accommodations:
Private Room - You are free to make any upgrades/changes to the room as long as they get finished.
Storage/Work Room
Parking Space
Shared Kitchen
Shared Bathroom
Shared Laundry
Shared Game Room/Living Room
Yard & Garden Access - your ideas and input will be taken into account as an equal party in the creation of this homestead/permaculture paradise. You can grow anything you want, try any
PEP project you want.
You are responsible for rent & half of the utilities. Utilities include: W/S/G, Electricity, Internet. If you would like any extra comforts (ie: cable) you are responsible for those. This will be a month to month agreement. You can stay for a month, a summer, or for as long as you want.
It is a 420 friendly household. Drinking responsibly is allowed, but there is no
I have 2 dogs and there are some outdoor cats. Any pets you wish to have need to get the OK from the animals who already exist.
Single Individual preferred, but I will not rule out couples. No children, sorry.
I plan to grow microgreens and set up for the farmers market with those as well as re-establish my natural wellness business. There are plenty of opportunities for you to start your own little business, get into community outreach and education as well as
experience Central Washington for all it has to offer.
There is also the opportunity, if you fall in love with the area and the house, for you to stay in the home as long as you like. I plan to buy a piece of property in the future, but if everything works out, it is likely you can take over the urban homestead.
