seed trade for Fall 2012...

I'm down here in Florida looking to trade garden seeds.
I've got a pretty hefty drainage ditch for water collection-
but, as you might guess- it's pretty hot down here....

I'm looking for some:
Asian winged beans
Scarlet runner beans
Velvet runner beans
and Spaghetti squash seeds.

I have garden seeds to trade
Marigolds, and Hyacinth beans, some sunflower varities.

any chance you've got access to some palatable air potatoes (Dioscoria bulbifera)? I'm on the other side of the continent where they aren't invasive. if you could get some air potato, I bet I could track down some of what you're looking for.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I came across this when looking up air potatoes on wikipedia:

there are folks in Florida growing edible cultivars (likely elsewhere, too). up until three or four years ago, I could order from a great Florida nursery. then somebody somewhere put the kibosh on that. in the meantime, learning a lesson about the herbicidal aspects of boric acid cost me the three thriving air potato plants I had. haven't been able to get any replacements since then. and this makes me sad.

like you say...
most air potatoes in Fla. are the not-to-eat ones-
In the genus their is an edible species that produces air tubers but,
it doesn't grow as common as the don't eat ones.
I don't have any growing-yet.
maybe groundnut sometime....

anyhow what I need is Asian winged beans
for sure for Fall: runner beans: scarlet and velvet.
any trade we are able to work out will do!

I have spaghetti squash and live in Seminole Heights, FLA. Not sure which part of FL you're in but I can't get squash to true without the squash bugs getting it all. I'll send you some of the spaghetti squash seeds. Can't help with the runners I don't think.

I hope you have found your beans by now! I got velvet beans on ebay last year from someone in FL. Planted Feb. 3, first frost Nov. 25 and still no dry beans! So I would try ebay if you still need some.
