Hello! I have been reading a lot in the forum about
hugelkultur, but I have not found any post talking about managing it. I mean, I found LOTS on building it, but, once built, how to manage the system?
I find that the form give new possibilities for using the space, introducing a semi vertical way of working. So it gives me the impression that it can't be denser than other regular raised beds.
But what I am looking for are experiences on this management thing: what to plant, how dense, how much planting for how many people, etc. In the mediterranean we can harvest all year round, so I think it has a big potential.
I made my first
hugelkultur, just to try, not perfect but cool to work with, and I planted there what I had planned for three raised beds. I don't know if it was too much or not. It is good to go with trial and error, but it would be great if we could know about other people hugelmanagement . I mean, to solve this questions: how much, how often, how dense...
I will keep on playing and next month I expect to build a new one, as the first was not perfect (anyway I think it will work well, I understood the principels and it has all the "ingredients", just not the perfect form), but if you could share, that will make me happy :)
