Hello! Our local botanical garden sold off all of their plants while they spend a year renovating the facility. In the process, I was lucky enough to purchase a potted 10'+ ft tall grapefruit tree they had in a breezeway. I am going to pick it up in a couple days, then I'm also going to be moving quite a long distance. I'm curious if anyone has any tips on moving a fairly large potted tree safely? I wish I had taken a picture when I was there, I can get one when i go to pick it up. It's in a huge clay pot though, so I don't really want to tip it on it's side, but I will if that's the best way to do this. I was thinking about getting a trailer and strapping the pot down? Maybe wrapping the tree branches with a tarp the best I can? The branches do actually reach out quite far, so I really don't want them to break.
