Any books on Simple Machines?

By simple machines I mean things like the Ram Pump or the Trompe. I am interested in a book that covers simple, low-maintenance machines or devices which have been replaced by more modern technologies today. Preferably with diagrams and descriptions of parts and how they work.

Also I thought I would add a few information filled books I have been really impressed by:

The Permaculture Student 2, by Matt Powers

Mycorrhizal Planet, by Michael Phillips

Microclimatic Landscape Design, by Robert Brown & Terry Gillespie
