So I want to stop using oil to heat my house. Currently using a hot water boiler with built in heat registers (they are set in the walls with the front exposed) I have a 2 story house that's about 2,000 sq. ft. I was told my oil tanks are rotting from the inside out and need to be replaced. Rather then replace them, I thought this is a good time to try something else. My question is, can a RMH be used to heat the water? If so, can I somehow still use the pump on the boiler to circulate the water? Or do I need to use a larger wood stove of some kind? Or another source of heating all together? Anyone have any suggestions or ever try something utilizing an existing boiler pump?
