What would you all say about growing a 1 acre sunflower farmscape in moderately wet soil. It rained on Monday and I went to check the soil yesterday ( Friday ) it was very moist still. This is my first year getting to work on this particular land and I am still getting to know the area. I’m wondering if it is too wet or if the sunflowers will still make out okay. Also, any suggestions on cover crops to plant before planting the sunflowers?

Most sunflowers like sunny locations with dry soil.  There is one called swamp sunflower, Helianthus angustifolius that might work for you.

If you are planting your cover crop now, I would suggest winter rye as it will die back when the weather gets warm enough.

Some information about your planting zone or what part of the world you are in might help with suggestions.
