The beloved old sot, also known as Bill Mollison used to tell a story about his search for a mythic well in Ireland.  I'd love to find a copy of this... it was very stereotypical in regard to the Irish conversational nature.  "Can you tell me about ___ well?"  "Well that depends, why would you be after knowing?"
