My farm is in Puebla Mexico where we have wet summers and dry winters. There is not much feed available in the dry season so if I have sheep or cattle I would need to feed them over winter. With hogs I can just get a few sows bred in November and have plenty of piglets ready for the rainy season. Its cheap to buy 3 or 4 sows and feed over winter compared to having a large herd of sheep year round.
Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore. Check the tiny ad.
