Last year, a friend did wonderful stuff teaching people in a pretty deprived suburb how to grow produce and what to do with it, building community resilience and independence.
Now she's got a massive new project called Common Unity happening at a local primary school, and while there's passion and commitment from all sorts of people
(not least the kids), the project has really limited funding.
I'm helping to build what will be eventually be an urban farm. We're creating the mandala gardens and the orchard's planted on the 'blank canvas' of an ex-playing field.
Most of the people involved are volunteers and we're keeping costs as minimal as we can, but we need some funds to rely on.
There's a crowdfunding page on https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/395 , where people can pledge amounts from NZ$5 to help with expenses like seeds and garden tools.
Please help out: the NZ$10 000 goal needs to be reached by the end of the month.
You are more than welcome to forward the link to your contacts!

What could go wrong in a swell place like "The Evil Eye"? Or with this tiny ad?
