This video is amazing and the carbon foam that he shares, best of all, is homemade!!!

This guy is a real gem and if you like his video he has a small donation option and would greatly benefit from it.

Every family should be an island of self sufficiency and free of grid bondage so that we can all have more time and ability to make the world a better place versus sprinting in the rat race!

I would probably add that the best way to make the carbon foam would be, instead of using your electric stove, use a wood stove for a couple days and make huge bricks.

I just found this link. What a fascinating material, thank you Grag! I somehow expected carbon to be flammable, but apparently it isn't. It seems that the carbon foam is good for 650 degrees C in air, e.g reference above which it will slowly oxidise, and can be protected by a layer of ceramic or metal.
