Hello everyone,
Please distribute the following information to your distribution network for us. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Also we are still accepting vendors / exhibitors for the SolarFest and auction items for the Kick-off's silent auction. We would like "green" or "sustainable" items such as memberships, experiences or activities for the auction if you have any available or know of any.
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
See you at SolarFest.

FREE SOLARFEST
Exhibits, vendors, speakers, live music, Kid Zone, Film Festival, Transportation Zone, and the Taste of Shoreline hosted by the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce
Shoreline Solar Project hosts its 6th Annual SolarFest, a Renewable Energy & Sustainable Living Fair on July 18th 2009 from 10am to 8pm at Meridian Park School in Shoreline. The all-day event is free to the permies. The Fair’s free Kick Off event starts at 7pm on Friday night, July 17th at the Shoreline Conference Center.
The Fair began in 2004 to help people make informed decisions regarding their use of resources including energy, transportation, and food. Showcased are more than 90 organizations and business that apply concepts of conservation and sustainability in their business models and practices. This is the longest running event of its kind in the Puget Sound Region.
Event organizers are estimating 5,000 will attend to learn about the renewable energy technologies and choices they have for more sustainable living. The "Kid Zone" features hands on activities including paper making, solar cookers, a solar fountain, gymnastics, and using recycled materials to make creations and things that move with solar power. Presentations will take place throughout the day. Important topics including home solar systems and electric vehicles will be addressed. The Film Festival will show documentaries throughout the day.
The Shoreline Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring “The Taste of Shoreline.” This offers fairgoers a chance to sample many delicious menu items from area restaurants, diners, and grills. Food will be available for purchase.
Friday night, the Fair features a special Kick-Off event. The keynote speaker is Chris Jordon, the Seattle-based internationally acclaimed photographic artist whose work explores the detritus of American mass culture. Live and silent auction proceeds will go to offset costs of SolarFest and will benefit Shoreline Solar Project.
The Fair-Kick Off is Friday, July 17th at 7pm at the Shoreline Conference Center, 18560 1st Ave NE, Shoreline, WA, 98155. The Fair is Saturday July 18st from 10am-6pm at Meridian Park School in Shoreline (corner of N 175th & Meridian Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133).
