Farm and Childcare Help, xchange for board, stipend - California

Hi,

I am new to posting but thoroughly enjoy this forum. I live with my nearly 6 year old daughter on 18 acres at the end of a dirt road in a very private space. We keep bees, have a small, fledgling orchard and a floundering garden, two dogs and a horse. I would love to get goats and chickens. My husband lives in a town 3 hours away and I need help for when he is not here. I work full-time and my daughter is in school all day. I am looking for the right person who isn't afraid of very rural, remote living, isn't afraid of rattlers in the summer (you just have to be aware), who will help me with childcare and wants land to practice on, so to speak.

I am in dire need of childcare for the coming summer... mid June - mid August. So during that time (except for some vacation time and odd days), I need childcare 7-6, M-F. I can offer room/board and food and a small stipend. For the very right person, you could bring your own trailer and find your own private space on the property if we could work out any power, septic and water needs. Otherwise, I can offer a room in the house. I can provide more details and descriptions.

We live outside of Mariposa, CA... gateway to Yosemite National Park. I have thought of offering free room and board and NO duties prior to my summer needs to sweeten the deal so to speak! But I need to be sure it wouldn't be someone who would take advantage of the free room and board and then take off during the summer. It is hot here so you need to be tolerant of heat.

I am just trying to find something that would work.... probably better for a woman but the right guy would work, too! You just have to like a gregarious, tomboyish girl! I should add that water is in short supply here due to no rain in the summer and a low producing well... so any conservation techniques are the only way to get things to grow without risking the well. Great opportunity for someone who wants to write, garden, paint, (sabbatical type thing!) be active outside, care for animals, get away from the 'burbs or big cities, etc. Low key people.... only watch Netflix.. no other TV. Only minimal alcohol... absolutely no other drugs or smoking. We buy organic as we can and grow organic when we can (it's a constant battle with gophers right now!).

Hello, I'm Mike and I'm a hard-worker, I notice small details, I'm a quick-learner, and I love that feeling you get after you wake-up and go right to work and go home or wherever you sleep after you squeeze all the hours out of the day to work and can only barely take a shower right before you fall asleep and you feel you've done something, you've accomplished something worthwhile and it only made you stronger!~ I don't stop once I've started doing something that requires hard-work, and I mean real hard work, the kind that requires you to use every muscle in your body, until I'm done.~ I live for that feeling!~ So, I may not have much expierence doing things on farms, but I'm a quick-learner and you can count on me!~

Whatever it is you need me to do, I'll do it as long as I have a place to eat and sleep I'm good.~ I'm pretty good with childern too, I guess it's because I can understand them more than most people. I don't mind working with childern, in fact I love childern!~ I plan on having my own kids one day far in the future, a whole bunch of them! I love the country, I love working with plants and I love hard-work!~

Hi, I'm interested in this opportunity.I can give you references RE:Childcare, but have little experience with the farming part. I'm not afraid of hard work and I'm definitely not afraid of rural living. I could get out there by May 10th, and need to be back home on the 22nd of August to resume school. I have pretty good woodworking skills, so if you decided to build a coop for chickens, or anything like that, I love work like that. Please let me know if you have any questions about my skills or would like aforementioned references.

Christina and I [Davey] are a young couple living and traveling around California in our Vanagon. We both have mucho babysitting experience, references, and a love for the outdoors [Yosemite in particular is where we met]! We're not sure our plans for the Summer yet but we want to start looking at options for work trade/WWOOF etc.
