Hello all!   I love experimenting with starting native plants from seed but I am at war with pests and heat and rain. For those of you that start plants from seed outdoors, and don't have a lot of space or shade in your growing area, what structures have you designed to keep plants cool, and protected from insects. I'd love to see some photos! Thank you

I have a northern wall where i have a nursery. More like starting cuttings with a heatwire running through. I have no trouble with insects.
Further i have a passive nursery on the project. To the north of oaktrees where i've grown quite some seeds. Hazels, peach, ash, oak, chestnuts, plums. It's in halfshade i'd say.
The seedlings receive some direct morning and evening sun. The hot summer sun is evaded. Between the seedlings and oaks there's a ditch. It fills with rain occasionally.

World domination requires a hollowed out volcano with good submarine access. Tiny ads are optional.
