Hi everyone,

I'm currently living in the Netherlands and was living in Hungary, 50 km from Budapest in Mariahalom which has a small ecovillage "Biofalu" for some time now. This summer I will move back there.
My intention is to create a permaculture garden. Since I'm not experienced and would like to get things started well, I'm looking for an experienced permaculture designer whom is willing to help us with the design of this garden.

The Biofalu has in total 50 hectare of land, around 2 hectare is designated for the permaculture garden. Closeby there is Strawbale house which (with some effort) could become a "gardenhouse" for tools guests and living. The purpose of the garden is to produce for own and common use. There is a large guesthouse with 30 rooms which is suitable for any kind of group with large or small numbers. Groups are coming whole year round with busy periods around the summer. The staying includes vegetarian meals which are being prepared by volunteers. Our intention is to supply our guesthouse with home grown ecological food.

Hungary has a land climate suitable for any kind of produce, hot summers and cold winters. The soil is rich, clay soil which is not being worked on or chemicals used for the last 15 years. The area is on a slight slope with a lot of sun. Closeby there is even a well and a recently created natural pond.

During this summer we're probably building a new strawbale building if you have any interest in learning about building with wood, cob and strawbale you can also contact me and I can update all of you once the plans are ready.

There are also possibilities to volunteer in the guesthouse (cleaning, cooking etc.). This means you get accomodation and food for around 6 hours of volunteering a day. This is for people who want to have a kind of retreate or are looking for personal development (spiritual).

Do you know someone or happen to know someone who can help us out? Or have any tips don't hesitate to contact me here or on:
gijs_v_hamersveld@hotmail.com

If people wish for I can also add pictures of the place. Feel free to have a look also on the webpage www.biofalu.hu (unfortunately only in Hungarian).
