Hello, I'm new to permies and I like to share my experience building my first RMH.
I started some years ago reading and learning about rocket stoves without have, let me say, the "insight" to start with a real one.
Two years ago I built my first J tube rocket just to cook and to show it to some friends.
In September I started to build a RMH for my home after buying and reading the book "the rocket mass heater builder's guide" by Erica and Ernie Wisner.
Attached you can find a picture related to the final result of my labors.
I also have several pictures showing the various stages of construction.
Time construction, one working man without "rocket" experience: one month
Working days for first cold start: 5 days (a lot of smoke that day, not so comforting
Now my "baby" is lovely "rocketing" (I hope you can understand what I mean).
After the first month of functioning, the wood consumption is roughly 60% less compared to my previous metal wood stove but probably it will be less.
Thank you all for your attention.
Walter

Hi Walter,

Welcome to Permies.

The barrel was packed to the top with fish. And he was shooting the fish. This tiny ad stopped him:
