My husband makes an anti-inflammatory tea for his Crohn's. Sadly, not all of it can be found in our garden, but the main ingredient sure can be: mint!
His tea is made of (we always eyeball the amount of ingredients but this is a rough estimate)
- 1/4 cup of dried mint
- 1 Tbsp of quercetin
- 1
tsp Oregon grape
root
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- dash of cayenne
He doesn't always use the oregon grape root (since it's better to cycle on and off with it), but it really does help him a lot. At one point, his feet were covered in ulcers, and this tea got rid of them within 2 weeks. Whenever his Crohn's starts flaring up, he starts drinking this tea, and it really seem to help get him back in recession.
