Hi,

Parc Carreg is experimenting with raising guinea pigs outdoors year-round, in pens moved daily. They use them as lawnmower.
Depending on your predator pressure, their setup won't work for you, but the work to meat ratio seems quite interesting for small areas.
I would love to know how many kg of meat can be produced a year with the moves once a day.

I know a native Peruvian, from whom I heard that the English "guinea pigs" is indeed a good name for them--their meat apparently does taste like pork. (I had thought these animals were merely pets for people who didn't have enough space for a cat or dog!) Hopefully the above channel will educate people on this, and there will be more such experiments beyond beef, chicken, and pork in the USA.
