Just learning and watching what happens after I put the beds in. Clay and loam mix here, all dug by hand. The client wanted something "swirly", so after the initial 50 ft of swale, mound on contour at the top of the Site, we put in series of mounds around a center 24' mound. The client's sister is in a wheelchair, so we laid out the beds with paths so she could spend time in the garden.

Newbie with new topic I unaware of due to technical challenge of the old man...

Question, Does the type of wood you put in a mound affect soil ph differently? I know softer woods will break down faster, just been mixing, pine, oak, sweet gum, maple. Thanks for any info.
