I saw a presentation by this lady yesterday - very inspirational! Using cheap materials and not a lot of labor you can grow vegetables all winter for fresh picked food. http://www.motherofahubbard.com/how-to-build-a-low-tunnel/

I'm curious if anyone here does this and what they think of it.

Cool. I love how simple she makes it.

I will add a couple points: If you are going to use plastic pipe, use conduit (the grey stuff) as it has UV inhibitors so lasts longer.

I prefer to use metal conduit and a small $40 hoop bender. http://lostcreek.net/mhseriesbenders3999.html

Each piece costs a bit more (but about the same as a piece of PVC and a rebar stake) but they handle snow better, last longer, and no plastic. I think they are a better value in the end if you are doing enough to justify the bender.
