Sunn Hemp

We live in Southwest Kansas where in the 30’s the dust bowl was. We have had severe drought for a little over three years now.

While driving through our sandhills here lately I noticed desertification in a very fast progression. Within the last two months I have seen what we did have as vegetation go to just blowing sand. At this time my thoughts are that there could be a repeat of the “The Dirty Thirties” dust bowl.

My question is what are the thoughts on using Sunn Hemp to build our soil and use the biomass for organic material back in the soil.

I noticed that this post was moved to "permies-forums-growies-soil" My question was 'could we use Sunn Hemp as a base to rebuild a food forest like Geoff Lawton talks about? Similar to "From Desert to Oasis in 4 years".
