30M in Texas looking to start a homestead in Oregon

Recently got 10 acres out in Southern Oregon, planning on moving there by next year to continue my college education + start working on my homestead.
I would love to have someone along for the ride, but regardless of whether I find someone that works out, I'm doing my best to make it out there anyway.

Currently live in Texas, attending community college, studying for my Computer Science bachelor's. Enjoy nature, quiet nights, gaming, and most movies and shows.
Although lately, I haven't had much time for the last three things.

Simple nerd looking for someone compatible to start a life with. Dating apps have been a headache, so I found this site via Reddit.

Hey brother, fellow Texan here with friends in Oregon. Going off of "generalized demographics" of both States, I'm presuming you're not liberal (unless from Austin area). If that is the case. Most of Oregon is so far to the left of even Austin, it might be culture shock. However there are many rural southern Oregonians who are more traditional conservative types but are numerical far fewer than anyone left of center politically. Not to be political here, just talking sociology. I'm from north Texas and every one of my liberal and conservative friends all over Washington and Oregon told me that there is no scenario I'd enjoy being there, because even if I mind my own business on my own land in a conservative area, the state is mostly liberal women judges who are big government types that want to legislate every aspect of life of any person in the state, down to even the water that falls on your roof which you're forbidden to capture and drink without permission.

Be aware. Texas is basically an entirely different country. Different laws. Different basic expectations of being left alone in peace, etc.

Hey man, thanks for the concern. The thing is, I used to live in Southern Oregon. I don't know where most people get this propaganda that most people are even political to begin with out there. From my experience when I lived in Oregon, most were just chill people living their days. Just like anywhere else.
I think there's some kind of quiet group from Oregon spreading hateful rumors about the place to deter people from moving there. I literally see it all over the internet, but have never met anyone who's taken the time to visit or live anywhere near Oregon, let alone the southern cities where people really only care about keeping their communities looking nice.

I really appreciate the concern, but I suggest that you get off the forums and social media and go explore America. It's not as bad as the internet makes it.

QUICK EDIT: Also, Google is a powerful and free tool. A quick "Oregon Rain Catching Laws" search would tell you that you've been horribly misinformed. Please don't believe everything your friends tell you. Got to be able to think for yourself.
Not making fun, I have screenshots of a lady who tried to tell me that oral sex was illegal in Oregon, which is also untrue. LMAO
There's just a lot of misinformation on the state, and I don't want you to be one of the silly billys online believing them.
