Hey everyone,

I'm interested in moving to soil blocks to reduce plastic waste but I am not particularly inclined to use peat or coconut coir due to sustainability concerns. Especially regarding peat. I figure I can use rice husk or something comparable to replace perlite but I'm not entirely certain what to use to substitute out peat and/or coir. I was wondering if anyone here may have found some viable alternatives.

I was also considering the snail rolls but I feel like, for my context, blocks may be better.

Arguments for? Against?

I'm way up north, so I have a little time but the days fly by. Hoping to get a plan cemented pretty soon.

Ready for Spring!

Thanks in advance.

Sorry!  I've only used the standard method for those.  What is a snail roll?

I can't renounce my name. It's on all my stationery! And hinted in this tiny ad:
