We are a quiet, dependable, and hardworking couple seeking a long-term property caretaking or on-site host assistance arrangement in exchange for a place to park our 16-foot fully self-contained travel trailer, with occasional access to a simple 1–2 bedroom dwelling if available. We are clean, respectful, drama-free, and value stable, long-term arrangements built on trust, accountability, and consistency.

We are small entrepreneurs.

I am 35 with a background in finance, operations, and crypto investing, and my partner is 32 with professional experience in management and customer service. We have been together for four years and have lived and traveled extensively throughout the U.S., including Florida, Las Vegas, Washington, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Tennessee, and beyond. I have over a decade of experience living the minimalist RV lifestyle, and my partner is fully committed to simple, alternative living that prioritizes self-reliance, reduced consumerism, and long-term sustainability.

We are ideally suited for absentee property owners, snowbirds, second-home owners, short-term rental operators, or farm, ranch, and landowners who need reliable year-round or seasonal support. Our needs are minimal: access to electricity (30-amp preferred, though a standard outlet works), water via hose, and septic access if available (not required). We are fully comfortable living in our trailer through all seasons, including winter conditions and semi off-grid environments.

In exchange, we provide full-service property caretaking, including routine security checks, snow removal, yard and land maintenance, gardening, animal care, minor repairs, and mail or package handling. For Airbnb or VRBO properties, we can assist with guest communication, check-ins and check-outs, cleaning and laundry between stays, restocking supplies, light landscaping, and overall property oversight, with the goal of improving guest satisfaction, reviews, and booking performance. We are also happy to help with special projects, fencing, general labor, or ongoing improvements. We are fast learners who take pride in thorough, high-quality work.

We enjoy an active outdoor lifestyle that includes hiking, backpacking, skiing, camping, cooking, gardening, and exploring nature, and we especially appreciate mountain or rural settings. We have two young, well-behaved (though energetic) Huskies and are responsible pet owners who prioritize daily exercise, structure, and fresh-cooked meals for them. Our long-term goal is to move toward full homesteading and self-sufficiency, and we are very open to learning, mentorship, and skill-sharing as part of a work-trade arrangement.

Our preferred locations are rural or semi-rural areas with mountains. We are not big on the desert so probably isn't a fit if that's where you are. Just being honest 😆. We enjoy the mountains very much.

Affordable cash rent is also an option if a full exchange is not possible. References from past property arrangements are available upon request.

If you are a property owner, short-term rental host, or landowner seeking dependable, hands-on, long-term assistance and have space for an RV, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Please email details first, and we can arrange a phone call if it seems like a good fit.

Keywords: property caretaker, house sitter, Airbnb co-host, VRBO assistance, property oversight, RV work trade, land-for-RV exchange, farm help, ranch hand, off-grid living, homestead opportunity, rural caretaker.

Hi there! We, Eric and Wendy, are charmed by your description and your pictures. While we are not looking to hire full-time help, we certainly could use help maintaining what may well become a 30-40 acre property.

We are creating an intentional community in rural far northeastern Texas, south of Texarkana, and just west of the Louisiana and Arkansas borders. It's called the Mariposa Group. No mountains here, but Oklahoma and Arkansas are not far for when you are interested in exploring that. The land is green, and quite lush. with rolling hills.

Right now we have 14 plus acres, one cement block house that Eric built and a second house we bought from his family when his mother died. It is 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, with a 3 car garage. It will become our common house for the community. You could certainly use it for showers, laundry, and it would be lovely to have some meals together there if you are looking either to do some cooking or at least share some meals.

There is much we could do on this land with help. I'd like to focus on permaculture projects in addition to putting in a pergola, some sort of garage, etc. We hope to have prospective community members using the house as we get acquainted with them, initially for short visits, perhaps also for months long periods. There is only the two of us right now, though we had a single mother with her son here about 3 years ago. She remains a friend.

Our community is focused on love and truth and requires acceptance of diversity. It sounds like you 2 are mature and dependable and having you with us either for a short-term stint or a longer term care-taking role might benefit all of us! Even if you are just interested in what we are about, as we are about you, let's consider a phone call, further emailing or a videochat. We greatly value deep friendship and look forward to getting to know you. We've included a link below to our community.

Best wishes, Wendy and Eric  mariposafound@gmail.com

Thank you for the lengthy reply! Unfortunately Texas is one of the last states we want to be in. However, I do appreciate you. Good luck with the community!
