East Fork Farm in Marshall, North Carolina is seeking a long-term work-trade partner to join our team. We are located on a beautiful 40-acre property with rolling pastures and mountain views. A newly purchased 30ft Airstream will be provided as on-site housing for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable, and skilled in general farm and property maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys rural living, problem-solving, and working with their hands.
Ideal Candidate:
-Handy and experienced with general repairs
-Carpentry skills
-Able to handle last-minute fixes on our Airbnb cottages
-Comfortable helping with a barn remodel
-Able weed eat and manage basic groundskeeping
-Can operate a tractor (and ideally perform minor tractor repairs)
-Can help with gravel road repairs (occasional cementing or drainage installation)
-Self-motivated and able to work independently
Work-Trade Includes:
-Long-term Airstream housing on the farm
-Beautiful private setting among mountains and pastures
-Access to 40 acres of property with swimming pond and hiking trails
-Organic meat, eggs & veggies from the garden
-Additional stipend available depending on experience
Expectations:
-10-30 hours per week, flexible
-Respect for the land, animals, and property
-Good communication and reliability
