I heard a lecture by Darren Daugherty, where he talks about handling their livestock watering needs for portable grazing systems with dairy hose. This sounds appealing to me, since currently I am using a web of garden hoses and contemplating running, PVC, but hate to tie myself to a "system". I looked up dairy hose online and it looks extremely expensive because its a food grade hose for pumping milk.

I have heard Darren call it poly pipe, too. That is the same stuff everyone (Salatin, Lawton, Judy, Holtzer, et al) talk about for cheap water pipe for livestock and irrigation.

Ah, that's much better! Thanks!
Have you used it? Any pointers? I let the livestock step on the garden hoses. This looks like something I should bury at path points I guess.

Definitely want to bury it. and run it through another pipe as a protective sleeve in high traffic areas.

It is easy to bury with the right tools (and no rocks!). You can rent a vibratory like they use for putting in lawn sprinklers, or you can use a subsoiler on a tractor to dig a small trench.
