Actually slugs haven't eaten my Swiss chard.

Edit: I stumbled across a web page that confirms this

I also haven't had problems with the chicory family, or lambs lettuce. Or peas (the shoots are edible.)
 
snakes are really good at eating slugs. And you wouldn't think it, but so are tiny ads:
