Low-cost, eco-friendly toilets for refugees

In September I designed two different compost toilets for emergency use in Calais and elsewhere. Just recently I've added in a new French version. But then if it was planned better it might work.  Maybe arrange for them to compost in place so they don't have to be handled.

If anyone has been paying attention to my recent posts, they know that I've recently discovered and become quite enthusiastic about Terra Preta Sanitation.

I wonder how the straw bale urinal might be different if the bale were first inoculated with Lactobacillus. I have a strong suspicion the odor would be quite diminished and of a different nature. Fermentation smells seem to be more sweet and sour, and far less offensive.
