Is Privet OK?

Hi,

I just cut down a small privet tree and have a good size trunk and limbs. Would privet be OK for a hugelkultur bed? I'm in love with the idea but I've got a small yard and this is my first go.

In NZ, the hedging shrub we call 'privet' is virtually impossible to kill
and I imagine it would be very pleased to have a nice mound of earth to grow in!
If you stacked it out in the weather til spring, then used it, it might be dead...

Privet will root from cuttings. So definately do NOT put it in your hugel bed.
However, it is a great forage for goats and rabbits.
