Hi there. I'm visiting the US soon in search of inspiration and information on urban permaculture projects for my book "Urban Shift". I'll be in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Sebastapol, Eugene, Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. Would love to hear from you if you are involved in or know of permie related projects in any of the above cities or nearby. I'll be around from end of March to 3rd May.

I'm particularly interested in projects that are using a permaculture approach to work for systemic change and that are benefiting or regenerating communities. Doesn't have to have a Permaculture label on it either - any urban farming, local economy, food distribution, re-wilding, gleaning, green building, education or green energy projects are part of the story I'm seeking.

I'd also be really grateful for places to stay a night or two...there's me, Lucho the photographer and my 6 yr old son. We're all very lovely and happy to help out.

For the last 5 years I've been running the UK's only one year Permaculture course in Bristol, England. It's 2.5 days a week for 40 weeks covering all aspects of sustainability in the city. I'm really happy to share what we've learned from this pioneering course and create some cross-pollinating relationships across the pond. http://www.shiftbristol.org.uk/

In Seattle: check out City Fruit, Seattle Tilth, Beacon Food Forest, Backyard Barter. There's a Seattle Permaculture facebook group that you can browse for more inspiration.
