Hello,

I live in zone 5b in the Hudson Valley in NY state. I am just starting to implement permaculture principles on my newly acquired land so I have no idea what I am doing yet but I have to start somewhere. But first things first, I would need to plant a hedge of trees to block me from my very unfriendly neighbor down below. I would like to know if anyone has advice on what trees to plant that will adapt well to my climate and provide a decent growth. Ideally looking for evergreens, but would consider deciduous as well. Looking for trees that won't go above 30-40ft height. Any help welcomed. Free cocktails provided on site.

Thanks,

Alain

Several cedars will work. A dense planting will eventually produce useful poles. Plums can be grown as a thicket. Some are thorny.
