New set of plants for Id #1 I know it's a thistle, but can't seem to nail down the specific type.

1st looks a lot like Nodding Thistle aka Musk Thistle.

That's what I was leaning towards Mitch. All of my books say reddish-purple flowers and I was seeing pink, so I wanted a second opinion.

A more positive ID could be made if the photo included the bracts under the petals/flower head. Scotch Thistle looks similar but has different flower bracts, larger leaves, and some hairs. Your flower picture appears to be bent over or nodding, which is characteristic of Musk Thistle.

The second plant appears to be Carolina Geranium its supposed to have some medicinal uses

Definitely Musk Thistle Mitch! It was "nodding" and the bracts match it. Thanks again!
